Trees – a soliloquy

Rooted and grounded

Taking from the earth only what can be given back

Spreading their branches in acceptance

Reaching toward heaven

Strong but nimble

Fearless and resilient

When a storm approaches, the strong prevail while the weak shall fall

Standing firm but willing to dance with the wind

Saying their sweet hellos to clouds above

Peacefully willing to adapt to the seasons

Knowing there is a time for rest and a time to bear fruit

Adding beauty across the land

Purifying the air, enriching the lives of those near and far

A reviving life force

Trees, the nature of humans
